Ice Climbing Course

The interest for ice climbing has been increasing the last few years. With new tools and development of the technique, ice climbing is getting more and more common. For the winter season 2007 we will arrange ice climbing courses and guided tours in the frozen waterfalls of Jostedal and Hemsedal. We offer tours and courses at most levels, from easy guided climbs to expert courses. A normal winter offer good conditions both in Jostedal and Hemsedal. Combining the climbing with a skitour will give you the ultimate winter vacation in Norway. For the season of 2007, we will also offer a 5 days course in ice climbing.

Guided tours
The frozen waterfalls of Jostedalen offer good conditions from December to March. Guided tours at 4-6 hours for one or two persons. Contact us at phone or e-mail for booking.

Program	What?	How?	Why?
Day 1:	Use of crampon and ice tools. Top rope climbing. Rappel.	We use a little crag and climb with and without axes.	Training basic technik. Get the good feeling about climbing.
Day 2:	Learn how to make belays. and top rope ancher. Multi pitch climbing.	Climb a multi pitch to learn good routines.	To train basic rope technik.
Day 3:	Learn how to lead a pitch.	You lead your own pitch, with extra toprope for safety.	Get preperd to lead your own climbs. .
Day 4	Mix climbing.	Climbing on ice and rock.	Good exercise for climbing with crampon on rock.
Day 5:	Rescue training. Z-pulley. Rappel with injured.		Important to be able to rescue yourself and your ropemate in the mountains or on the climbing crag.
