Where
on earth is
Jostedal?
With
the mighty
Jostedalsglacier to the
north and Jotunheimen, the highest mountains in Norway in the south,
Jostedalen is in the middle of wintertime Norway.
We have a fairly cold inland climate, and
the most snow in Norway. All this snow makes the biggest glacier in
Europe.Travel
from Europe, Denmark, Newcastle and Germany by ferry is quite
easy, as is flying to Bergen or Oslo. We are remote, but not too hard
to get to.
What
is Jostedal
like?
With the most powder snow in Norway, we can offer a POWDER GUARANTEE on
some of our trips. Please contact us for more info about this.
Jostedalen during winter is calm and quiet, the 400 people still makes
for an active skiing
and outdoor
community. Most people search
for a winter holiday without crowds and lines, but still end up in a
ski lift resort, where it feels as if the city has moved to
the mountain.
Jostedalen would like to be an alternative to lift queues and
resort holidays, and we offer outdoor activity in the place of outdoor
inactivity. Fimbul will like to to show you how
skiing and the outdoors is a big part of the local life, and you can be
a part of this.
Fimbul
Jostedal
is the guding company!
For winter 2010 Fimbul offer both tours and courses in untouched
snow
and good ice.
The
guides in Fimbul
Jostedal has organized taylor-made ski trips for more than 10
years. The cost of
the trip depend very much on the level of accommodation, way of travel,
and of course the number of members in the group. We will try to make
the best arrangement to a reasonable price. All travel arrangements in
Norway can be made by us if you prefer.
